Step 1: Run Final Fantasy VIII Remastered on Dedicated Graphics Card

To run Final Fantasy VIII Remastered on Nvidia or AMD graphics, do the following:

Nvidia: Make a right-click on your desktop and open Nvidia control panel, go to the Manage 3D settings, select Program Settings and choose Final Fantasy VIII Remastered from the drop-down menu. (In case, the Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is not available in the list, click on Add and find Final Fantasy VIII Remastered in the list, you can also click on Browse and find the Final Fantasy VIII Remastered exe). After selecting Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, set preferred graphics processor to High Performance Nvidia Processor and hit Apply.

AMD Users: Launch AMD Radeon settings by making right-click on the desktop, select System and then Select Switchable Graphics, under Switchable Graphics, select Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (if not available use Browse option and select the .exe-file Final Fantasy VIII Remastered game). Select High Performance for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered from the drop-down option and hit Apply.

If you are receiving block message, open the “unauthorized changes blocked” message from notification icon, it is on the bottom right of the screen.


Click on the “unauthorized changes blocked” notification for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. In “allow an app through the controlled folder access” window, click on the + and add an allowed app button. Find the Final Fantasy VIII Remastered exe file and select it.

In case you are not receiving Windows 10 notification “unauthorized changes blocked” or it disappeared.

Open Windows Security by typing Windows Security in the windows search box

 

 

Click on Firewall and network protection

Now click on Allow an app through firewall

A new window will pop up, click on Change settings and then click on Allow another app, now click on Browse and find Final Fantasy VIII Remastered launcher, after you select Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Exe, select Open, click on Add and then OK.

Step 7: Disable Integrated Graphics

This step is for the laptop users, many players were able to get the game working after disabling the integrated Intel graphics card in the device manager. Open device manager and make a right-click on Integrated Intel Graphics and select Disable device.
